Ever think about how we decide how much one job is worth compared to another? Now think about if we changed the scales. It could be a scary world.

Ever feel like you’re in a rut? What do you do in those times? Today I was feeling that way and I decided to doodle.

Ever think about metaphors and then want to draw a cartoon of it. I actually do that a lot. Today I was thinking about the metaphor the Chinese give their painting tools: the four gentlemen.

Wanting to give my bathroom a little flair without spending anything, I decided to paint a small little scene that would match the beautiful colors of my bathroom: black, white, and yellow.

With the rise in popularity with poker or the long history and mythology of playing cards, motifs using spades, aces, jacks, and kings have rose in distribution. We designers will always be influenced by these shifts in culture, whether intentionally or not, and I was the other day. I was just thinking about what I should make and I came up with a king motif.

When I was a kid, I was told that I was going to be the next Picasso or De Vinci. People like complimenting art to the extreme which is a dangerous thing because it can put some expectations in a kid’s head that shouldn’t be there.

After not posting anything on my blog for two weeks due to moving and starting a new job, you’d think that I would make something really cool. Well, sorry to disappoint. I posted a weird sketch that I drew when sick.

Ever people watch? How about people draw? I sort of invented it today. Its a mix between life drawing, people watching, and being a ninja. Today I tried to people draw at the DMV and found that its kind of hard.

Ever travel to new worlds while drawing? I have. I begin in front of a piece of paper, pencil in hand, and next thing I know, I’m drawing something else I would have never thought other wise.
