Expanding Strokes

How about another drop cap after a busy day of interviewing? I know, I made one just the other day but the project I really wanted to do today would have taken a little longer. Hopefully I’ll find the time to do it tomorrow.

Today’s drop cap is what I think is a more traditional drop cap: a simple but decorative letter. I blended a curly string and a honey comb together to give it just a nice little pattern. I wanted to do the string because lately I have been drawing the shapes and curves of letters by scratching them down on paper in a pattern like the strings on the H.

One thing I learned today (or maybe relearned) is that you want to expand your strokes at the latest moment possible. I made that string a lot harder on myself because I didn’t do that.
