House Decoration
Today’s post actually has another reason other than to practice painting. I actually painted this painting to decorate my very boring apartment. I moved in two months ago and haven’t put anything up on my walls yet. I have a bunch of movie posters and old art projects that I could hang up but they are all disconnected from one another and reminds me of college.
Growing up, my walls housed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers posters, Pokémon, and other superhero posters. Then when I went off to college, I had posters of New York and Italy (even though I have never been to either), posters from Thank You For Smoking and Boondock Saints, and design posters I got free from school. Now that I am on my own, I want to be a little more sophisticated about what I put on my walls or at least more matching.
Currently, my bathroom is black and white with yellow highlights: one of my favorite color trios. It also has one empty wall that would be perfect for a small square picture. That’s why I decided to paint a black and white painting with yellow highlights. I then painted fish because I think of water when I think of the bathroom. Its simple but I like it.
Now all I have to do is find a frame that fits and my bathroom will be a little more pretty. Hurray for having a place of your own!
